Shardeum Launches Stage 2 of Incentivized Testnet

Atomium Stage 2 is live! With over 460,000 participants in Stage 1 of our incentivized testnet, we are excited to see our community members bring the same energy and enthusiasm to Stage 2 quest activities. Stage 2 is expected to run for 12 days. With Shardeum’s bug bounty program already in motion and your active participation in the Atomium testnet so far, we are continuing to crowdsource crucial developments toward our mainnet launch. Together, we are on our way to solving the scalability trilemma!

Shardeum’s stage 2 quest campaign invites you to participate in stress testing on-chain and validator functionalities, with the potential to earn rewards such as badges, NFTs, XP, and surprise offers from our partners. Please note that rewards can only be earned through quest tasks listed on the official testnet campaign page.

Overview of On-Chain Tasks in Stage 2

The stage 2 quest campaign will feature familiar tasks from stage 1, making it easy for both returning participants and newcomers to engage and complete them. This provides an excellent opportunity especially for new users who missed the stage 1 campaign and complete these tasks. Here’s an overview of on-chain activities:

Level 1: Referral program

Similar to our stage 1 quest campaign, you can boost your XP by referring friends. However, for stage 2, you must first complete all the on-chain tasks in Level 3 to become eligible for the referral program. Once completed, you can proceed with your referral by following the instruction on referral page.

Level 2: Social tasks

As in stage 1, users can participate in simple social tasks such as following Shardeum on X/Twitter, joining Shardeum’s Telegram group, subscribing to newsletter among others. After completing the tasks, you must verify the status on the quest page to mark them as completed. Please be aware that users who engaged in these tasks during stage 1 are required to complete them again in order to earn points from this level.

• Social tasks will be gradually released on the quest page after the campaign begins

Level 3: Quiz

Users can participate in an interesting quiz-cum-voting game, similar to what was available in Stage 1.

Level 4: Games and Puzzles

Level 4 will introduce you to exciting games and puzzles. You can complete them to increase your XP and climb the rankings on the leaderboard.

Note:

• Games will be released gradually on the quest page throughout the stage 2 campaign
• We have daily limits on SHM transfers and game attempts. Be sure to check the quest tool on a daily basis for updates on new games and expanded limits to boost your XP and advance your leaderboard ranking

Overview of Validator Tasks in Stage 2

In Stage 2, users can run nodes in return for potential rewards. You can setup the nodes using your own machine or via VPS and stake minimum test SHM. You should further make sure to keep your node running throughout the end of the stage 2 campaign. Strict adherence to the hardware and other requirements listed on the validator campaign page is essential for validators to qualify for rewards.

Note:

• Leaderboard for the validator tasks will be published after a few days following the conclusion of the stage 2 quest campaign.

Further, participating in node validation offers a glimpse of what it’s like to run nodes in the mainnet. With Shardeum’s relatively modest hardware and staking requirements along with user-friendly interfaces, even average users will have the opportunity to operate nodes and earn rewards for the first time on a blockchain network.
