In our latest edition of ‘About Shardeum Team‘, we have Yash Jhade, who is also the committer for the month of September 2023. Yash is a dedicated Web3 enthusiast since 2019, currently growing the communities at Shardeum globally. His journey into building & growing communities started way back in 2014, touching areas from pro-wrestling to memes and even pop culture. Yash’s objective at Shardeum is to grow, manage, and expand its ever-growing community across the world. Thanks to his and his team’s efforts, Shardeum is currently the 2nd largest L1 blockchain community within just 20 months of its launch. How incredible is that!
Yash further adds that he has been curious about the ins and outs of entrepreurship, and exploring them. He loves breathing life and energy into new products and projects. His career aim is to be a successful entrepreneur like Shardeum’s co-founder Nischal Shetty himself.
During his free time, he actively follows Pro-wrestling & MMA, and you can also find him either practicing a new move or sitting down to watch an exciting match online. He is convinced that they are a part of his integral self. You can find Yash here and here.
Also you can find many of his initiatives on the community page of Shardeum’s website.
Jereme/Will: What are you building at Shardeum?
Yash: When Shardeum was first announced, we were a small team, and I was responsible for building our community through all the channels possible. I focused on connecting with people and making sure Shardeum’s message was clear to everyone. As the team and the community grew, my role shifted mainly to growing our online presence. With the support of my team, contributors & community members, Shardeum’s communities have now become some of the biggest and most active ones out there. Whether it’s the Shardeum’s community channels, or the Leagues building on Shardeum, our community has come a long way, and we continue to grow and strengthen it.
Jereme/Will: What sets Shardeum and its Community apart?
Yash: Beyond the tech, what I really love about Shardeum is the strong culture we’ve built in the last 20 months. Our community is always ready to help and support each other. We wanted Shardeum to have a natural community feel without any official control, and I think the friendly and helpful culture we have now makes us stand out.
Jereme/Will: How can our community members uplift Shardeum?
Yash: The community has been a big part of Shardeum from the start. At Shardeum, we say “the community is the CEO,” and we really mean it. They’ve helped in many ways, like making the logo, starting community channels, organizing events in different countries, and giving feedback on our tech. Now that we’re getting ready to launch the mainnet for Shardeum’s network, I think the community should come together to make sure it’s a big success and prepare for more big things ahead.
Jereme/Will: What was your journey into Web3?
Yash: I read about Bitcoin in 2019 and put a lot of money into it. But the value went down, and I lost money. This made me want to learn more about this industry. I got really interested in Web3 and felt it was going to be big. So, I left my studies to work full-time in this area.
At first, I joined some projects that didn’t turn out well, and I made some mistakes. 🙏
But when Nischal announced Shardeum, I knew what was coming . I’ve been here for 18 months now and things have been just growing ever since.
